It wasn’t long before Elena Muscat realized that a career in music was exactly what she wanted in life.
Music Life
Born in 1999 in Birkirkara, Malta. Currently reading for a Bachelor of Music Honours degree at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland under the tuition of Simon Rawson. Recently, chosen to form part of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra music Academy under the tuition of Joana Nunes. Performed various solo performances in Scotland and Malta. A very active orchestra player, participating with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, the Universities of Scotland Symphony Orchestra, the Edinburgh University Symphony Orchestra, the Valletta International Baroque Ensemble and served as a sub-principal of BISYOC 2019’s viola section. Currently is serving as a leader of the Malta Youth Orchestra’s and Edinburgh Napier Chamber Ensemble’s viola section and have joined the Malta Philharmonic on multiple times. In 2020, she endured a job experience with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Muscat also plays the violin and the saxophone alto.

THE IAN TOMLIN NAPIER/MALTA SCHOLARSHIP TRUST
2018 - 2022
The Ian Tomlin Napier/Malta Scholarship Trust provides scholarships to promising young Maltese musicians to further their studies at the Ian Tomlin Academy within Napier University, Edinburgh.

So far the Trust has helped several musicians to graduate from the Ian Tomlin Academy of Music. All of these graduates have gone on to careers in music as well as further post graduate training. Together they have contributed to Malta’s cultural life, and will continue to do so for many years to come
MALTA PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA SCHOLARSHIP AND MPO ACADEMY

The MPO academy is investing in the future of Maltese musicians through the launch of this academy. This initiative will not only provide the possibility of specialising in orchestral training in Malta, but in time will also result in the increase of local musicians within the ranks of the MPO.
MALTA ARTS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
2019 - 2022
The Malta Arts Scholarships Scheme aims at providing more opportunities to support individuals who are exceptionally talented in the creation and/or promotion of professional in the Expressive arts. Theatre, music, dance, design, creative writing, film, the visual arts or any combination thereof shall be given priority.
BOV JOSEPH CALLEJA FOUNDATION
2019
Set up on the 25th October 2013, the BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation is the brainchild of The Maltese Tenor Joseph Calleja and the Maltese Bank, Bank of Valletta.
The Foundation was set up to perform a social function amongst the most vulnerable individuals and social groups in the Maltese community. Specifically, its attention is tuned to underprivileged children and children with innovative, distinctive or unique artistic or musical talents who are in any way unable to develop or enhance their talents.
